History

History

The start of our company can be traced back to 1918, when Augustus Lampson opened a blacksmith shop in Geyserville, California. The blacksmith shop evolved into the town’s local hardware store. Augustus Lampson then decided to add on to his hardware store and opened A. Lampson and Son’s, an automobile service and filling station. From here Augustus began to sell Ford Model T cars. And in the late 1920’s began to sell Ford Tractors and additional lines of farming equipment.

Lampson Tractor remained as a one store operation for some 60 years. But in the last 20 years has expanded to cover most of Northern California. 1986 Lampson Tractor opened a new location in Ukiah, California. Then in 1993 and 2003 Lampson Tractor merged with Lincoln Farm Equipment and North Bay Equipment respectively. These mergers expanded Lampson Tractor’s area of responsibility to cover most of the northern bay area counties. In 2007 Lampson Tractor acquired Noble Tractor in San Jose, California. Lampson Tractor now serves Santa Clara, San Mateo, Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, Marin, Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino and Humboldt counties.
